BANGLADESH SENIORS PARTICIPATE IN APAGC IN JAPAN

A seven-member team of senior golfers of Kurmitola Golf Club (KGC) recently participated in Asia Pacific Amateur Golf Chairmanship, 2018 which was held from October 17 to 19 in Miyazaki. The tournament was sponsored by Japan Golf Association and participated by senior 92 golfers from 13 countries. Last year, this annual event was held in Adelaide, Australia where a four-member Bangladesh team participated for the first time.

The results in the tournament are counted on gross basis — no handicap is considered. A good number of players participated with zero or very low handicap. Japan team became champions followed by New Zealand and Australia. In individual category, Brent Peterson retained the title. South Asian countries including Bangladesh managed to hold the middle and lower middle positions. The next year’s event will be held in India.
