American closes with a brilliant 64 to claim three-shot victory at Sedgefield Country Club
GREENSBORO — Michael Brennan produced a superb final-round performance to win the 2026 Wyndham Championship, securing his second PGA TOUR title and dramatically booking his place in the FedExCup Playoffs.
Brennan fired a six-under-par 64 in Sunday’s final round at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina, finishing the tournament at 22-under-par 258.
The American won by three strokes over Beau Hossler, turning a tightly contested final round into a commanding victory with a decisive run of five consecutive birdies.
The triumph could hardly have come at a more important moment. Entering the Wyndham Championship—the final event of the PGA TOUR regular season—Brennan stood 105th in the FedExCup standings and needed a major result to extend his season.
Victory propelled him all the way to 47th, comfortably inside the top 70 who qualified for the opening FedExCup Playoffs event.
It will mark Brennan’s first appearance in the FedExCup Playoffs.
The Wyndham title also continued an impressive breakthrough season for Brennan, giving him his second PGA TOUR victory of 2026 and further establishing him among the Tour’s rising American talents.
Along with the trophy, Brennan earned 500 FedExCup points and $1.53 million in prize money.
While Brennan surged into the postseason, the conclusion of the Wyndham Championship also brought contrasting fortunes for several established names as the top 70 in the season-long standings were finalised.
But Sunday belonged to Brennan.
Faced with the pressure of needing a significant result to keep his season alive, he delivered his best golf when it mattered most—leaving Greensboro not only as the 2026 Wyndham Championship winner, but also with his place among the PGA TOUR’s FedExCup Playoff contenders secured.
