The ASEAN Dhaka Committee Golf Tournament 2026 was held at Kurmitola Golf Club (KGC) in Dhaka on Saturday, 8 August, bringing together members of the ASEAN diplomatic community and invited guests for a morning of golf, friendship and camaraderie.
Organised under the banner of the ASEAN Dhaka Committee, the tournament reflected ASEAN’s enduring spirit of regional friendship and cooperation, carrying the theme “One Vision, One Identity, One Community.”
Representatives associated with ASEAN member states—including Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam—were represented in the tournament branding, alongside Timor-Leste.
The event teed off in the morning at Kurmitola Golf Club, one of Bangladesh’s premier golfing venues, followed by a brunch and prize-giving ceremony at the KGC Restaurant.
Beyond the competition on the course, the tournament provided an informal platform for strengthening relationships among members of Dhaka’s diplomatic and wider professional community.
Golf has increasingly served as a valuable platform for building personal connections beyond formal diplomatic engagements, with events such as the ASEAN Dhaka Committee Golf Tournament combining sport, fellowship and regional goodwill.
The 2026 edition once again highlighted the role of golf in bringing communities together while celebrating the friendship and shared identity of ASEAN nations in Bangladesh.
