Nicolai von Dellingshausen Claims Maiden DP World Tour Victory at Austrian Alpine Open

Nicolai von Dellingshausen secured his first DP World Tour title in style at the Austrian Alpine Open presented by SalzburgerLand, shooting a final-round 65 to win by two strokes at Golf Club Gut Altentann.

The 32-year-old German began the final day one shot behind close friend Marcel Schneider but quickly climbed the leaderboard with back-to-back birdies on the 3rd and 4th holes. Schneider opened with a bogey, and von Dellingshausen seized the opportunity, taking control of the tournament early.

After a bogey on the 6th, von Dellingshausen bounced back with a birdie at the 8th and a momentum-shifting eagle at the par-five 9th, making the turn at 4 under. A birdie at the 10th moved him to 19 under par, and he calmly parred his final eight holes to seal his first Tour victory in his 110th DP World Tour start.

“It means everything,” von Dellingshausen said. “To finally get over the line and do it here in Austria, with Marcel in the final group, it’s really special.”

Finishing two strokes behind were Marcel Schneider and Kristoffer Reitan, who both shared runner-up honors at 17 under par. Reitan, last week’s Soudal Open champion, delivered the round of the week with an electrifying 10-under-par 60, narrowly missing out on becoming just the second player in DP World Tour history to card a 59. His eagle putt on the 18th slipped just past the hole, but his historic 60 is the lowest round on Tour since November 2023.

Denmark’s Jeff Winther rounded out the top four, carding a 1-under-par 69 to secure his best finish of the 2025 Race to Dubai season.

Dellingshausen claimed his maiden DP World Tour title at the Austrian Alpine Open presented by SalzburgerLand, carding a final round 65 to win the title by two strokes.

The German, who went into the final day one stroke behind close friend Marcel Schneider, recorded his third five under par round of the week at Golf Club Gut Altentann as he won his first DP World Tour title on his 110th start.

Starting the day on 14 under par, Von Dellingshausen moved to the top of the leaderboard after back-to-back gains on the third and fourth hole, capitalising on an opening bogey by Schneider. The 32-year-old dropped a shot at the par four sixth, but finished his front nine with a birdie on the eighth and an eagle on the ninth to make the turn in four under.

He then moved to 19 under par after a birdie at the tenth and he parred his way home to win by two from Schneider and last week’s Soudal Open champion Kristoffer Reitan.

Reitan, who last week came from nine strokes back to win his maiden title, carded a ten under par round of 60 to take a share of second place. The Norwegian covered his front nine in just 29 strokes and he had an eagle opportunity at the last for the second round of 59 in DP World Tour history, but his putt narrowly missed on the low side and he tapped in for the first round of 60 on Tour since November 2023.

Denmark’s Jeff Winther carded a one under par round of 69 to finish the week in fourth place, recording his best result so far on the 2025 Race to Dubai.

Nicolai von Dellingshausen:  “I was hitting good golf shots; I never felt like it would slip out of my hands, to be honest. I was hitting the numbers I wanted, the shots I wanted. When things got a little tough here and there, I saved pars and made some nice putts along the way. Just happy overall.

“After the par on 16, I said, ‘Now it’s mine, there’s nothing going wrong.’ I saw the lie in the bunker and thought, ‘Oh my god.’ I just hoped I could get it over the second bunker. Then hitting the wedge to 15 feet or whatever it was, and seeing the ball drop — that was the momentum I needed for the last two holes.

“It’s very, very satisfying. It’s something I’ve been waiting for a long, long, long time — to win again. I’ve come close on the DP World Tour twice, on the Challenge Tour as well. To finally win on the big stage now is unbelievably relieving, and it makes every step along the way worth it.”

Kristoffer Reitan:  “59 was in the back of my mind, but I was just trying to make as many birdies as possible and play the course as well as I could. Once I was in the fairway on the last, that’s when I knew I had a shot at it. Just a little bit gutted about the putt — that I read it wrong — but I’ll take 60, that’s fine.”
