The 21-year-old American finished at 25-under-par, closing with a composed five-under 66 at TPC Twin Cities on Sunday to defeat World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler by three strokes.
Koivun laid the foundation for victory with a sensational 10-under 61 in the third round, setting a new tournament scoring record. His back-nine 28 also established the lowest nine-hole score ever recorded on the inward half at the event.
