The 8th Friendship Cup 2026 was successfully staged on 25th April, at Shaheen Golf and Country Club, reinforcing the long-standing tradition of camaraderie and competitive spirit among Bangladesh’s premier golf clubs.
Organised by Shaheen Golf and Country Club, Patenga, the tournament brought together distinguished golfers under a spirit of friendship and sporting excellence. Notably, the event was conducted without commercial sponsorship, reflecting the club’s commitment to preserving the core values of the game through self-initiative and institutional collaboration.

The competition featured strong representation from leading clubs, with Bhatiary Golf and Country Club emerging as the overall champions. Their performance on the day demonstrated consistency, discipline, and strategic play across all formats.
Leadership presence added further prestige to the event. The tournament was graced by Air Vice Marshal Md Abdullah Al-Mamun, OSP, BSP, ndc, afwc, psc, President of SGCCP and Air Officer Commanding, BAF Base Zahurul Haque, alongside Major General Ferdous Hasan Salim, BSP, SUP(BAR), awc, psc, President of BGCC and General Officer Commanding of the 24 Infantry Division and Area Commander Chattogram.
On the course, leadership was equally strong. BGCC was captained by Captain Kader Mahmood Chowdhury (R), while SGCCP was led by Mr. Mokhlesur Rahman, ensuring a competitive yet cordial contest between the sides.

Set against the coastal backdrop of Patenga, the Friendship Cup once again highlighted the unique role golf plays in strengthening institutional ties, particularly among the armed forces and affiliated communities. The event concluded on a high note, reaffirming its place as a valued fixture in Bangladesh’s amateur golf calendar.
