The Asian Tour, DP World Tour and PGA TOUR have announced a landmark multi-year partnership that will run through at least 2029, strengthening collaboration across international professional golf and creating new competitive pathways for players around the world.
The agreement marks a significant step in building a more connected global golf ecosystem, with the three tours working together to expand commercial opportunities, elevate tournament standards and enhance player development.
Under the new partnership, and as part of the existing Strategic Alliance between the PGA TOUR and DP World Tour, both organizations will collaborate with the Asian Tour to provide greater commercial support and expanded playing opportunities. A key feature of the agreement is the introduction of new progression pathways for leading Asian Tour members, beginning with the 2027 DP World Tour season.
Top-performing players on the Asian Tour will earn access to either the DP World Tour or the HotelPlanner Tour, offering talented golfers a clearer route to compete at higher levels of international golf. Further details regarding qualification criteria will be announced later this year.
The agreement also confirms the return of DP World Tour co-sanctioned tournaments with the Asian Tour from 2027. The full list of co-sanctioned events will be revealed when the DP World Tour publishes its 2027 schedule later this year.
Christian Hardy, Senior Vice President of International at the PGA TOUR, described the partnership as an important milestone for the global game.
“This agreement is another example of what can be accomplished when organizations come together with a shared vision for the future of professional golf.”
He added:
“Through our Strategic Alliance with the DP World Tour, we have worked to build a more connected global golf ecosystem, and we are excited to welcome the Asian Tour into that effort. Together, we are creating new opportunities for players, enhancing key National Opens around the world and continuing to evolve and strengthen pathways to identify and develop the next generation of elite talent.”
The partnership reflects the PGA TOUR’s continued commitment to strengthening global golf through strategic collaboration while providing greater opportunities for emerging players from Asia to compete on the international stage.
For golfers across the Asian Tour, the agreement represents a major opportunity, offering clearer progression to elite professional tours and reinforcing Asia’s growing importance in the global golfing landscape.
