A Promising Start for BPGA’s New Leadership

The Manola Sonali Paper Professional Golfers Tournament 2026, which concluded on 22 July at Jolshiri Golf Club, Rupganj, marked more than the crowning of a new champion—it represented the first tournament successfully organised under the newly elected leadership of the Bangladesh Professional Golfers’ Association (BPGA).
Led by President Mohammad Younus and Secretary General Sifat Ahmed Chaudhuri, the new Executive Committee began its tenure on a positive note by delivering a well-organised championship that brought together many of the country’s leading professional golfers. The tournament reflected the committee’s commitment to raising organisational standards while providing a competitive platform for Bangladesh’s top professionals.

On the course, Badal Hossain emerged as champion with a superb three-round total of 203 (-13), finishing one stroke ahead of Md Razu (204, -12), while Jamal Hossain secured third place at 205 (-11). The closely contested leaderboard highlighted the growing depth and quality of professional golf in Bangladesh.

Organised by BPGA and sponsored by Manola Sonali Paper & Board Mills Ltd., the championship concluded with a grand prize distribution ceremony, where Lieutenant General Khan Firoz Ahmed, OSP, ndc, afwc, psc (LPR), President of Army Golf Club, presented the trophy to the champion.

Beyond the impressive performances on the fairways, the tournament stood as an encouraging beginning for BPGA’s new leadership. A professionally managed event, strong participation, and competitive golf signalled a positive direction for the Association as it embarks on its new term with the goal of further advancing professional golf in Bangladesh.
