The 9th Runner President Cup Golf Tournament 2026 concluded at Kurmitola Golf Club after four days of competitive play, bringing together over 815 golfers from various golf clubs across Bangladesh and abroad, held from 14 to 17 April. The tournament, sponsored by Runner Group, brought together a strong field of participants, reinforcing its position as one of Bangladesh’s most prestigious golf competitions.
The tournament was officially inaugurated on 17 April morning by Lieutenant General Mohammad Shaheenul Haque, Vice President of Kurmitola Golf Club alongside Mr. Hafizur Rahman Khan, Chairman of Runner Group. The opening ceremony witnessed the presence of Executive Committee members and senior officials from both Kurmitola Golf Club and Runner Group, reflecting strong institutional and corporate collaboration.
The closing ceremony was held on 17 April afternoon, where General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Chief of Army Staff and President of Kurmitola Golf Club, attended as the Chief Guest and distributed prizes among the winners. The ceremony was further honored by the presence of Admiral M Nazmul Hassan, Chief of Naval Staff, and Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan, Chief of Air Staff, highlighting the significance of the event
In terms of results, Jadid Ekram Ikhwan emerged as the overall Champion, delivering a strong performance throughout the tournament. Sakib Rahman secured the Runner-up position, while Mrs. Myounghee Kim claimed the Ladies title, demonstrating excellence in her category.
With consistent participation, high-level organisation, and strong stakeholder engagement, the 9th Runner President Cup Golf Tournament 2026 once again reinforced Kurmitola Golf Club’s standing as a leading venue for competitive golf in Bangladesh.
