The inaugural BGMEA Open Golf Tournament 2026 was held on April 25 at the picturesque Jolshiri Golf Club in Purbachal, bringing together Bangladesh’s business leaders, diplomats, and international brand representatives for a day of competitive golf and professional camaraderie.
Organised with the objective of strengthening relationships within the apparel industry while encouraging networking through sport, the event attracted more than 80 participants, reflecting the growing popularity of golf as a platform for engagement among corporate and diplomatic circles.
BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan attended the occasion as the chief guest and presented trophies and prizes to the winners at the concluding prize distribution ceremony held at the BGMEA Complex.
The tournament was organised under the supervision of Shah Rayeed Chowdhury, Director in Charge of the BGMEA Sports Committee, alongside Directors Nafis-Ud-Doula and Joarder Mohammed Hosne Quamar Alam, whose efforts helped deliver a successful first edition.
The event received strong industry support, with KDS Accessories Limited joining as co-sponsor, while Argon Denims Limited, Florence Group, Hoorain HTF Limited, and Dour extended valuable partnership support.
On the leaderboard, A.M. Mahmudur Rahman of Friends Stylewear Limited emerged as the men’s champion with an impressive performance, while Shafiqul Islam of Arrival Fashion Limited secured the runner-up position.
In the ladies’ category, HyaeJang of Dada Dhaka Limited claimed the winner’s title, while S.M. Nishat Bin Zia Rumman of Amazing Fashion Limited earned the Best Gross honour.
The successful launch of the BGMEA Open Golf Tournament signals a promising new addition to Bangladesh’s corporate golf calendar, blending sport, networking, and industry collaboration in a premium golfing setting.
