Apex Golf Tournament 2026 Concludes at Army Golf Club

The Apex Golf Tournament 2026, sponsored by Apex Footwear Limited, concluded at Army Golf Club in Dhaka, bringing together one of the largest amateur golfing fields seen at the venue in recent years. The four-day competition was held from January 14 to January 17, with the official closing ceremony taking place on January 31 at the club’s Golf Garden.

The concluding program featured a prize distribution ceremony, cultural performances, and a gala dinner, creating a celebratory atmosphere for participants and guests.

General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Chief of Army Staff of the Bangladesh Army, attended the event as the chief guest. He was joined by Lieutenant General Khan Firoz Ahmed, President of Army Golf Club; Golam Mainuddin, Chairman of Apex Footwear Limited; and Syed Nasim Manzur, Managing Director of Apex Footwear Limited.

Several senior officials of the Bangladesh Army and the club were also present, including Brigadier General Syed Ahmed Ali, Chief Executive Officer of Army Golf Club; Brigadier General Akhter Shahid, Chairman of the Tournament Committee; Brigadier General Mohammad Shariful Islam, Golf Captain; Lieutenant Colonel Sayful Islam, Member Secretary; Lieutenant Colonel Md Gholam Monzoor Siddique, Director of Operations and Sports; and Lieutenant Colonel AKM Saiful Bahar, Director of Administration and Management.

 

The tournament attracted 813 amateur golfers, who competed across five categories: Regular, Veteran, Senior, Lady, and Junior.

In the main competition, Colonel Imtiaz Mahmud emerged as the overall champion.

The category winners included:

  • Colonel Mohammad Mohiuddin (Retd) – Veteran Category
  • Brigadier General Abdullah-Al-Azhar (Retd) – Senior Category
  • Sarmin Jahangir – Lady Category
  • Syed Mahdi Mahbeer – Junior Category

Senior officials from Apex Footwear Limited also attended the ceremony, including Firoz Mohammad, Chief Executive Officer of the company.

The tournament once again highlighted the growing popularity of amateur golf in Bangladesh, while reinforcing the role of corporate partnerships such as Apex Footwear in supporting the development of the sport.
