From the fairways of Dhaka to the international stage, Siddikur Rahman has carried the hopes of Bangladeshi golf with quiet determination and relentless discipline. As TheGolfHouse marks its 10-year milestone, Siddikur reflects on a journey that has grown in both scale and significance; his own evolution as a professional, the rising competitiveness at home, and the unfinished mission of building a global pathway for the next generation. In this exclusive anniversary conversation, he speaks with clarity on performance, pressure, potential, and the responsibility of shaping Bangladesh’s golfing future.

You were present at the inauguration of the very first issue of TheGolfHouse magazine. How do you reflect on this ten-year journey with us?
It feels like just yesterday, yet it has been an extraordinary decade. I feel immense pride when I look at how far TheGolfHouse has come. I was there at the very beginning, never imagining that one day the entire country would be embracing golf so openly. Today, our juniors, national team, professionals, club members, and local tournaments are all thriving. Golfers in Bangladesh are receiving real recognition, and people across the country can now clearly see the momentum of the sport. I truly believe TheGolfHouse has played a serious role in this transformation.
You have been a consistent well-wisher of the platform. What progress have you observed over the years?
In the early days, TheGolfHouse was still finding its shape. I had the privilege of being close to its foundation and witnessing its gradual development. Over the years, it has evolved into a respected and influential platform in the golf industry. The reach, the professionalism, and the consistency have all grown steadily. Watching this journey has given me a deep sense of connection and pride. The achievements have not come without challenges, but every step forward reflects dedication and vision.
How do you assess your current game form, mindset, fitness, and competitive goals?
My game today is very different from what it was ten years ago. I am fitter, mentally stronger, more confident, and I carry more distance than before. Earlier, distance was one of my limitations. Now that part has improved. Yet, despite all this progress, the results have not always followed as expected. The competitive landscape in Bangladesh has completely changed. Prize money has increased, foreign players are competing regularly, and the overall standard is much higher. Even when you play well, the margin for success is extremely tight. That reality can be challenging, mentally and professionally.
You recently delivered strong performances. What areas are shaping your focus now?
Honestly, I am playing some of the best golf of my career. Still, not winning despite strong performances is difficult to accept. It tells me clearly that there is more work to be done. I stay focused on improvement and consistency. Inshallah, the results will follow.
Where do you see Bangladeshi golf in the next ten years?
Golf is an individual game, but national progress depends on systems, facilities, and governance. The future of Bangladeshi golf will depend greatly on how the federation operates, how facilities are developed, and how talent is managed. I see tremendous potential in both our boys and girls. There is real talent here. The key will be how well we nurture it. If the structure improves, the next ten years could be very exciting for Bangladesh golf.
As an international flag bearer, what are the essentials for producing tour level players?
Achievement is everything. Without success, your voice has little reach on the world stage. If we want global recognition, we must focus on performance and excellence. There is no shortcut. The only path forward is consistent effort, discipline, and results at the highest level.
What role do media platforms like TheGolfHouse play in golf development?
Platforms like TheGolfHouse give us a complete picture of both local and international golf. We learn about major tours, players, and the growth of the game worldwide. This exposure increases knowledge, motivation, and professionalism. Over the last ten years, TheGolfHouse has done exceptional work in promoting golf. Now I believe the next important step is direct support for professional golf. This is the time to strengthen that focus.
Your message to young golfers who aspire to follow your path?
Willpower is everything. If you truly have it, you can reach any tour in the world. Bangladesh already has good facilities and opportunities compared to many other countries. With dedication, discipline, and belief, it is possible to compete at a much higher level. I also congratulate TheGolfHouse for completing ten years of contribution to Bangladeshi golf.
Your final message for TheGolfHouse on its 10th anniversary?
I strongly believe TheGolfHouse can do much more for professional golf. My expectation is that over the next decade, it will make a meaningful impact on developing tour-level players. Without professional success, we cannot consistently represent Bangladesh on the global stage. I look forward to seeing TheGolfHouse take that bold step forward.
