Seventh Walton Cup Golf Tournament 2025 Wraps Up at AGC

The Seventh Walton Cup Golf Tournament 2025, organized by the Army Golf Club and sponsored by Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC, concluded on Friday, February 28, with a vibrant closing and prize-giving ceremony.
In the main championship category, Brigadier General (Retd) Md Zahidur Rahim claimed the title. Among the ladies’ competitors, Sharmin Jahangir emerged as the champion, while Shayla Ahsan secured the Best Gross title, and Jyotsna Ara Neela finished as the runner-up.
The junior category saw Khan Farhan Ahmed crowned as the champion, with Rayim Al Mabrook winning the Best Gross award. In the veterans’ division, Wing Commander (Retd) M Saiful Islam secured the championship, while Colonel (Retd) Mohammad Aminul Islam earned the Best Gross honor.
In the senior category, Brigadier General (Retd) G M Kamrul Islam emerged victorious, with Brigadier General (Retd) Abu Sohel as the runner-up. The Best Gross title in this category was claimed by Major (Retd) Md Arman Ali Bhuiyan.

The tournament’s closing ceremony was graced by Major General Khan Firoz Ahmed (OSP, NDC, AFWC, PSC), President of the Army Golf Club, who attended as the chief guest and presented prizes to the winners.
The event also saw the presence of Walton Group’s Vice-Chairman, S M Nurul Alam Rezvi, and Army Golf Club’s Chief Executive Officer, Brigadier General (Retd) Syed Ahmed Ali (PBGM, NDC).
This year’s tournament witnessed an impressive participation of over 800 amateur golfers, including 480 regular golfers, 76 veterans, 206 seniors, 42 ladies, and 16 juniors. A total of 23 participants were honored with awards for their outstanding performances.
