The PGA Tour has officially named Brian Rolapp as its new Chief Executive Officer, marking a pivotal leadership transition for the U.S.-based professional golf circuit. Rolapp, a seasoned executive with over 20 years at the National Football League (NFL), is set to assume his role later this summer.
Previously serving as the NFL’s Chief Media and Business Officer, Rolapp was instrumental in transforming how fans experience live sports. His expertise in media rights, digital innovation, and strategic growth is expected to drive the PGA Tour into a new era of global expansion and fan engagement.
Rolapp will oversee operations as CEO of both PGA Tour Inc. and PGA Tour Enterprises, reporting to the respective Boards of Directors. The PGA Tour’s management team will report directly to him upon his official start date.
“I’m honored to join the PGA Tour at such a transformative time,” Rolapp stated. “The Tour stands for excellence, integrity, and global opportunity. I’m eager to collaborate with our players, partners, and leadership to unlock new growth and create lasting value for the sport.”
The appointment follows an extensive executive search led by a high-profile committee featuring Arthur Blank, Tiger Woods, Adam Scott, Commissioner Jay Monahan, Joe Gorder, and Sam Kennedy. The group unanimously recommended Rolapp for the role.
Jay Monahan, who has served as Commissioner for nearly a decade, will transition his operational responsibilities to Rolapp and focus on governance roles within the PGA Tour and PGA Tour Enterprises through 2026.
Monahan commented, “Brian is the ideal choice to lead the PGA Tour forward. His arrival ensures continuity and innovation. With his leadership, we are poised for a dynamic and sustainable future.”
Tiger Woods also voiced his support, saying, “Brian’s appointment is a win for both players and fans. His proven leadership and respect for the game bring a fresh perspective. I’m confident in his ability to guide the Tour’s evolution.”
Rolapp acknowledged Monahan’s role in facilitating a smooth transition and expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity: “Commissioner Monahan has built something extraordinary. I’m grateful for his support and look forward to working together in this next chapter.”
With this appointment, the PGA Tour signals a strategic move to strengthen its global brand, expand digital reach, and deepen its connection with fans worldwide.
