The Antinori family have been producing wine in Tuscany since 1385 and have since established a reputation as Italy’s finest winemakers.
It will be Marchesi Antinori’s Villa Antinori Rosso Toscana IGT and Villa Antinori Bianco Toscana IGT that will be the wines of choice at the Ryder Cup itself, and the range of sponsorship functions and ceremonial events that take place in the build up to golf’s greatest team contest between Team Europe and Team USA. Villa Antinori was selected after a six-month process that included several other leading Italian wine labels. Villa Antinori, which today includes two red wine and two white wines, was first crafted in 1928 by Marchese Niccolò Antinori – also a golf pioneer in Italy – as the Antinori family’s signature wine.
Alongside the Villa Antinori wines, Calafuria Rosato Salento IGT was also selected, which is produced in Puglia at the Tormaresca estate.
