List and Boneta Set the Pace with Sizzling 62s at D+D REAL Czech Challenge

Danny List of Australia and Spain’s Albert Boneta stormed into a share of the lead after electrifying eight-under-par rounds of 62 in the opening round of the D+D REAL Czech Challenge at Royal Beroun Golf Club.

The duo sits one shot clear of Denmark’s Christian Jacobsen, who holds solo third after carding a 63 on a low-scoring Thursday in the Czech Republic.

List, currently ranked 56th on the Road to Mallorca Rankings, teed off early and raced through the front nine with five birdies to turn in 29. Despite a lone bogey at the 13th, the 27-year-old responded with back-to-back birdies on 14 and 15, before launching a drive onto the green at the par-four 16th and rolling in an eagle putt.

“I’m really pleased with how I played,” said List. “The putter was hot today, and I struck the ball well overall. That stretch from 14 to 16 really turned the round into something special.”

Boneta, 23, started his round on the tenth and initially kept a steady pace, making the turn at one-under. But the Spaniard caught fire on his closing stretch, pouring in seven birdies over the final eight holes, including a pair of twos at the tough par-three 8th and 9th holes.

“I stayed patient early on when the putts weren’t falling,” Boneta explained. “Once they started dropping on the back nine, everything just clicked. The par threes were playing tricky, but I managed to capitalize late.”

The chasing pack at six under includes Thailand’s Denwit David Boriboonsub, France’s Clement Charmasson, the Netherlands’ Lars van Meijel, Scotland’s Euan Walker and Ryan Lumsden, Denmark’s Jonathan Gøth-Rasmussen, and Italy’s Luca Cianchetti.

Round two resumes Friday at 7:30 AM local time, with List teeing off at 1:30 PM alongside van Meijel and Chile’s Gabriel Morgan. Boneta begins his second round at 8:30 AM alongside Rhys Enoch of Wales and England’s Chris Paisley.
