It’s a proud moment for the whole country as Bangladesh’s Jamal Hossain has clinched the NSL Luxe Presents Telangana Golconda Masters 2025 title in Hyderabad at PROFESSIONAL GOLF TOUR of INDIA (PGTI) . The final round was abandoned due to heavy rain, and Jamal was declared champion on the basis of his 54-hole tally.
At the Hyderabad Golf Association (HGA) on Friday, Jamal’s aggregate of 23-under-par 187 after three rounds proved decisive, giving him a four-shot lead. With scores of 61, 62 and 64, he led from the outset, showcasing remarkable consistency.
This victory marks the 40-year-old Jamal sixth career title and his first since November last year. The win also earned him INR 15 lakh in prize money, propelling him from 14th to 10th place in the 2025 PGTI Order of Merit.
Chandigarh’s Akshay Sharma carded 62, 64 and 65 to finish runner-up at 19-under-par 191, securing INR 10 lakh and moving to 21st on the merit list. Bengaluru’s Khalin Joshi settled for third with a 13-under-par 197.
Delhi’s Arjun Prasad finished sixth on 11-under-par 199, taking his season’s earnings to INR 69,71,599, keeping him second in the Order of Merit. Chandigarh’s Yuvraj Sandhu, who did not play this week, remains at the top with INR 88,67,200.
Among local hopefuls, Hyderabad’s Vishesh Sharma emerged best, finishing tied-22nd at five-under-par 205.
after winning, Jamal expressed his delight:
“I came close to winning a few times this season but couldn’t finish it off. Finally lifting the trophy feels very special. The weather is never in our control, but I stayed consistent all week. My driving and putting gave me the confidence, and that opening 61 really set the tone for the tournament.”
Looking ahead, he added:
“My next target is to perform well at the DP World India Championship in Delhi. I feel my game is building nicely for that challenge.”
Jamal’s triumph is another shining chapter in Bangladesh golf, inspiring hope for young golfers back home and reaffirming the country’s growing presence on the international stage.
