Højgaard twins to tee it up in Betfred British Masters

Nicolai and Rasmus Højgaard will bring added star power to the 2025 Betfred British Masters hosted by Sir Nick Faldo, taking place at The Belfry from August 21–24.

The 24-year-old Danish twins, among the brightest young talents in world golf, join a stellar field for the first event of the DP World Tour’s “Back 9,” which already features Ryder Cup Captain Luke Donald, 2022 U.S. Open Champion Matt Fitzpatrick, 2016 Masters Champion Danny Willett, and American star Brandt Snedeker.

Between them, the Højgaards hold eight DP World Tour titles and both are dual members of the PGA TOUR. Nicolai’s most recent win came at the 2023 DP World Tour Championship, while Rasmus claimed the 2024 Amgen Irish Open, outlasting Major Champion Rory McIlroy.

Both are pushing for a place on Team Europe for next month’s Ryder Cup at Bethpage. Nicolai made his debut in 2023, while Rasmus, currently seventh in the points list, is aiming to secure an automatic spot.

Rasmus, who won the ISPS HANDA UK Championship at The Belfry in 2020, said:
“I’ve been consistent this year and now it’s about making that final push. Playing at home and then at The Belfry, where I’ve won before, is a great opportunity to perform and make the team.”

Nicolai added:
“My form’s improving and I’m ready for this run of events. The 2023 Ryder Cup made me hungry for more, and it would be special if both Rasmus and I make the team.”

The Betfred British Masters is one of the DP World Tour’s most storied tournaments. This year marks the 22nd event at The Belfry, which first hosted a Tour event in 1979 when Seve Ballesteros won the Lada English Golf Classic.
