The stage is set for a thrilling weekend at the Rolex Grand Finale supported by The R&A, as Lars van Meijel, Daniel Young, Stefano Mazzoli, Félix Mory, and Euan Walker share a one-shot lead at Club de Golf Alcanada.
Dutchman Van Meijel and Scotsman Young each fired four-under-par rounds of 68 to reach eight under par, setting the early clubhouse mark before Mazzoli, Mory, and Walker joined them at the summit. The event marks the 29th and final stop on the HotelPlanner Tour’s 2025 Road to Mallorca, where 45 players are fighting for 20 coveted DP World Tour cards.
Van Meijel carded five birdies and just one bogey, positioning himself 16th in the projected season standings. Young, who began the week in eighth, posted a rollercoaster round with eight birdies and four bogeys, maintaining strong momentum despite the shifting wind conditions.
Overnight leader Walker stumbled early with two front-nine bogeys but staged a superb recovery with an eagle on the par-four 15th and a closing birdie at 18 to reclaim a share of the lead. Mazzoli and Mory, playing alongside Walker in the final group, both kept steady under pressure to join the five-way tie atop the board, one stroke clear of Scotland’s David Law in sixth.
Two-time DP World Tour winner James Morrison impressed with a five-under 67 to move into seventh alongside Baard Skogen, Rocco Repetto Taylor, and Renato Paratore on six under. South Africa’s JC Ritchie sits tied for 14th at four under and remains on course to finish the season as the Road to Mallorca Number One, with Law projected second.
Player quotes
Félix Mory: The front played trickily today. I made an excellent par on the second hole after two horrible lies in the rough. I hit a good swing on the third shot and hit it to a meter, making a par, which kept the momentum. Then I played the back nine well. I made a few good birdies. It was playing tough. I feel like today there weren’t as many given birdies, so it wasn’t easy, and I’m happy with the score I shot.
Daniel Young: I would’ve taken another four under. It probably wasn’t quite as clean as yesterday. A few more birdies and a few more bogeys so it was a bit up and down. I thought it was a bit trickier today with the wind, and the front nine is tricky. It’s awkward.
I think you’ve just got to be patient. My game has been good coming in here, so I know it’s solid enough to make some birdies. The greens are very good, so you can make some putts. You’re going to get chances.
Lars van Meijel: I’m happy. I played really well today. The wind was a different wind today, which made it trickier, and the par fives were playing tougher, but I stayed patient, especially at the start of the round, which is tougher. I then took advantage of the back nine.
You have two par fives [on the back nine], with one reachable one, so you have a couple of chances. It’s a bit wider off the tee too. I’m just trying to be super committed to every swing I make.
Stefano Mazzoli: I feel like I actually played better than yesterday. With the wind switching compared to yesterday, the course was playing a little tougher. It was definitely harder on the front nine, and the par fives weren’t as reachable as yesterday. I’m really pleased with how I played, and hopefully I can keep going.
Euan Walker: Over the last four holes, I couldn’t have done any better than I did today. You get it both ways in golf. For parts of the front nine, I couldn’t have done any worse from some of the positions I put myself in. I put myself in some great positions, but couldn’t have made a worse score. Thankfully, it turned around on the last four holes.
