Chasing the Fairway Dream; The Rise of a Junior Golf Champion

Bella Simões’ journey in golf began almost as soon as she could hold a club. Born on August 3, 2013, she first stepped onto a golf course at just two and a half years old, accompanying her father during his practice sessions. What started as playful swings with a plastic golf club—often alongside her doll and pacifier—soon turned into something much more serious.

Bella Simões’ journey in golf began almost as soon as she could hold a club. Born on August 3, 2013, she first stepped onto a golf course at just two and a half years old, accompanying her father during his practice sessions.

Coaches quickly noticed that Bella possessed a natural connection to the game. Encouraged by her early progress, she asked her mother to take her back to the course again and again. What began as occasional lessons soon became a daily routine. By the age of three, Bella was already practicing regularly, showing the dedication and enthusiasm rarely seen in someone so young.

Bella’s focus remains firmly on the future. She believes that consistent practice leads to improvement, and every day she continues to challenge herself to become a better player. Her ultimate goal is clear: to turn professional and one day compete on the LPGA Tour.

Like many children, Bella explored other activities growing up, including ballet, rhythmic dance, circus arts, and swimming. Yet golf remained her true passion. It was the place she wanted to be after school and the sport that inspired her to work harder every day. Her training gradually expanded from short lessons to longer practice sessions, and today she spends between five and eight hours a day on training depending on the season and tournament schedule.

Her dedication quickly translated into results. In 2020, Bella captured the US Kids World Championship, marking her first major breakthrough in junior golf. The victory fueled her motivation, and she returned even stronger the following year, winning the championship again after competing in more than fifty tournaments in a single season.

Bella’s rise continued in 2022 when she was named Player of the Year by both the Under Armour Tour and the South Florida PGA, while also securing her third world championship title. By 2023, she had added another remarkable achievement becoming the youngest player ever to attempt qualifying for the Women’s US Open at just nine years old. Competing on a demanding 6,500-yard course, she posted an impressive score of 82.

That same year, Bella claimed her fourth consecutive world championship, establishing herself as one of the most accomplished junior golfers of her generation.

Despite the accolades, Bella’s focus remains firmly on the future. She believes that consistent practice leads to improvement, and every day she continues to challenge herself to become a better player. Her ultimate goal is clear: to turn professional and one day compete on the LPGA Tour.

Beyond personal success, Bella hopes her journey will inspire other young girls to take up the game. Through dedication, passion, and belief in her dreams, Bella Simões is already shaping the early chapters of what promises to be an exciting future in golf.
