The 8th Anwar Ishpat–Anwar Cement Captain’s Cup Golf Tournament 2025 concluded on Saturday, 11October 2025 with a grand prize-giving ceremony held at the Army Golf Club (AGC) in Dhaka Cantonment.
The event was graced by Admiral M Nazmul Hassan, OSP, NPP, ndc, ncc, psc, Chief of Naval Staff, Bangladesh Navy, as the Chief Guest. Lieutenant General Khan Firoz Ahmed, OSP, ndc, afwc, psc (LPR), President of Army Golf Club, presided over the ceremony.
The closing ceremony was attended by senior military officials and dignitaries including Mr. Manwar Hossain, Group Managing Director of Anwar Group of Industries, the title sponsor; Brigadier General Syed Ahmed Ali, PBGM, ndc, CEO of Army Golf Club, Vice President (Administration), AGC; Brigadier General Akhter Shahid, SUP (BAR), ndc, psc, G+, MPhil, Vice President (Golf Operations), AGC; Colonel Mohammad Shariful Islam, afwc, psc, G, Member Secretary, AGC; Lieutenant Colonel Md Gholam Monzoor Siddique, Director (Sports and Facilities); and Lieutenant Colonel AKM Saiful Bahar, Director (Administration and Management).
The tournament featured over 200 golfers competing across different categories, reflecting AGC’s commitment to promoting golf and sportsmanship in Bangladesh.
Lt Col M A Yousuf emerged as the overall champion of the tournament, while Air Commodore Rashidul Haque and Mr. Bashir Ahmed received awards for their outstanding performances. In the ladies’ category, Mrs. Salma Jesmin Siddique won the top honor, and Master Arfan Hasan was recognized as the junior champion.
The Captain’s Cup, one of AGC’s most prestigious annual golf events, was supported by Anwar Ishpat and Anwar Cement, who continue to play a vital role in the development of golf in Bangladesh.
The event concluded with a dinner and cultural program attended by club members, sponsors, and guests, highlighting the strong bond between corporate partners and Bangladesh’s golfing community.
