The 11th Shah Cement–AKS Golf Tournament 2026 officially commenced at Kurmitola Golf Club on January 16, marking one of the country’s most prominent amateur golf gatherings of the season.
The opening ceremony was led by Lieutenant General Mohammad Shaheenul Haque, Commandant of the National Defence College and Vice President of Kurmitola Golf Club. He was joined by freedom fighter Brigadier General Shahidullah Chowdhury, representing the tournament’s title sponsor, Abul Khair Group.
This year’s edition has drawn an impressive field of approximately 700 golfers, including international members of Kurmitola Golf Club alongside participants from leading golf clubs across Bangladesh. The strong turnout reflected the tournament’s growing stature within the national golf calendar.
Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan attended as chief guest and presented awards to the winners, bringing the three-day competition to a ceremonial close.
Senior officials, executive committee members of Kurmitola Golf Club, and representatives from Abul Khair Group were also present, underscoring the continued corporate and institutional support behind the event.
The tournament concluded with a prize distribution ceremony at the club premises. Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan attended as chief guest and presented awards to the winners, bringing the three-day competition to a ceremonial close.
