On the Northeast coast of Tasmania there’s a hidden gem that is one of the world’s top golf destinations: Barnbougle Links Golf Resort.

Barnbougle Links Golf Resort consists of two courses: the Dunes and the Lost Farm which are both located in and around the dramatic dunes of Anderson Bay and along the pristine coastline of Northern Tasmania. Designed to emulate the true links courses of Scotland and Ireland, both courses are carved from the natural contours of the coastal land.
Established in December 2004, Barnbougle’s Dunes course layout is a passionate mix of dunes, sandy wasteland, and rough, typical of a links course. While the front nine is played through a series of dunes that lend to the course name and provide views inland over a small river estuary, the back nine are situated on slightly higher ground and offer multiple panoramas of the course, adjoining the bay and the town of Bridport in the distance. The course looks like an “old style” links golf course with wider fairways and plays like one too thanks to the frequent strong winds here. Barnbougle Dunes is a course that rewards strategic thinking.

The Dunes’ sister course, the Lost Farm, opened six years later on 10 December 2010. Within a week of opening, the Coore & Crenshaw designed course had quickly captured the attention of international golfers of all abilities, going on to receive numerous awards.
The Lost Farm sits adjacent to The Dunes and consists 20 links-style holes. While Lost Farm is similarly positioned along the coast, the sand dunes on this course are significantly steeper than those featured at The Dunes. Strategic bunkering and undulating greens combined with wide fairways offer an exciting challenge for even the most accomplished players.
Barnbougle Links Golf Resort is located in a remote area on the Northeast side of Tasmania lending to a perfect, quiet golfing getaway. While taking in the two different courses, players can also enjoy the fresh Tasmanian air and the omnipresent echo of crashing waves.
